DID YOU KNOW?...

Before Orchard Studios were built the exact same plot of land hosted an

old potting shed which was part of a commercial nursery that exported

roses worldwide!

Orchard Studios sits in almost 5 acres of gardens with a residential property

dating back to the 19th century. The orchard of over 70 trees has some varieties which
are now only to be seen here at Oakhanger and in one orchard somewhere in Devon!

He may be older and shall we say 'a little more rounded' but co-owner John is a qualified pilot, award winning songwriter and a former rally driver! - Those were the days eh?

Kate Newbould is our Business Development Manager but is also qualified to

Level 2 in British Sign language for the deaf and has a degree in forensic science and criminology!  ... she has an 'ology'!

The oldest person to record here at Orchard Studios was Mrs Mary Hooley who at the

time of her visit was 83 years young and she had such a great voice! The oldest writer

of material that was recorded at the studios is Mrs. Phyllis Smith aged 86 from Crewe!

If you're lucky you can catch some of the vast array of wildlife that

visit the grounds here at Orchard Studios including badgers, foxes,

rabbits, dragonflies, owls, moles, herons, ducks and even the odd escapee

cow!

Three of us here (Dan Logan, John Newbould and Dayve Dean) have all presented live regular radio shows and John's tones particularly can be heard regularly on various radio stations throughout the country.

Alma had both knees replaced (whilst conscious!!) and the really impressive thing was her trying to convince the anaesthetist that he should bring his team to the studios for a team building event during the operation. Now that's commitment!!

The downside of metal knees is airport security ... Oh what fun.
